Whats Definite
YOU PLAY TILL YOU LOSE YOUR $50 OR WIN EVERYONE
ELSES, NO CASHING OUT EARLY OR ADDING MORE CASH TO REMAIN IN.
Type of Poker
Standard poker hands will be used, no
wild cards, no jokers, and no weird flushes. The standard poker hands will be
located on the wall to ensure there is no confusion.
Betting chips
All players will handover $50 to the Bowker Casino
prior to starting the night. You will be given $50 worth of Bowker Casino
chips. The chips will range in value. On the night it may be necessary to
trade chips among table members of one value for another. This method has
worked well on previous nights.
Betting
- All players will be required to place their ante
on the table before receiving cards. This ante will be increased as the
night progresses. The first hour the ante will be $1, the second hour
$2….see further on.
- Betting will also be controlled. The maximum
bet per round will be $2 for the first hour, $4 for the second hour……see
further on. For example let’s have a simulated 4 player game during the
first hour.
Round 1
·
Player 1 (dealer) calls for all players to place
ante;
All players place ante $1 each.
(Players receive cards and at this point
choose to fold / sit / bet)
Round 1 betting
·
Player 2 decides to sit.
·
Player 3 likes his cards and places a bet. He may
bet up to the maximum bet. In this case the maximum is $2. So player 3
places $2 into the pot.
·
Player 4 folds
·
Player 1 (dealer) wants to stay in the game hence
must place $2 in the pot to continue. He can’t raise the bet any more as it is
at $2 which is the maximum.
·
Player 2 who decided to sit now has two options.
He can fold or place $2 in the pot to remain in the game. He decides to see
(stay in) and places $2 in the pot. Player 2 also can’t raise more than
the $2 maximum bet.
Once round 1 is complete a player who has
not folded has 2 options. One is to keep all 5 of their cards or replace up to
5 of their cards from the dealer. This will occur in a clockwise fashion.
Once this is complete a second round of betting will commence similar to the on
above.
Round 2
·
Player 2 takes 3 cards
·
Player 3 takes 1 card
·
Player 1 (dealer) takes no cards
Round 2 Betting
·
At this point
player 2 decides to raise by placing a further $2 in to the pot.
·
Player 3 decides to see this bet and also places
$2 in the pot but once again can’t raise above the $2 maximum limit.
·
Player1 (dealer) decides to fold
At this point players 2 and 3 reveal their
cards and the best hand wins.
The key is even if you bet maximum bets in
both rounds the maximum that will come out of your stack of chips will be $1
for the ante, $2 for round one and $2 for round two. Giving a total of $5.
This will increase as the night progresses.
Also as players cannot be bet off a table.
If a player has say $3 left and decides to take part in a hand the maximum
total bet for that hand is $3. We must give them a chance
Betting Escalation
Hour | Ante | Maximum Round Bet($) |
8:00pm-9:00pm | 1 | 2 |

11:30pm-12:00pm | 40 | no limit (40 minimum) |
Table Merging
This year there
will be 4 tables of 4 players to commence the evening. Each table will be
selected randomly from a hat. As the night progresses the number of table
members will fall as they become bankrupt.
Once a table
reaches 2 players it will wait until another table reaches 2 players to merge
to form a new table of 4. As the night progresses this rule may be modified to
allow a table of 2 to merge with a table of 3 to from a table of 5. This was
done successfully at previous poker nights and requires player cooperation.
